The Mutual Fund Projection Guaraníes and the Mutual Fund Projection USD are now available on the Paraguayan market, with expected returns of 8.00% and 5.00% respectively, and no minimum or maximum subscription or redemption amounts.

This makes CADIEM's range of investment options more complete, against a backdrop of constant change that is making the market more sophisticated.

CADIEM Administradora de Fondos Patrimoniales de Inversión (AFPISA) has launched two new mutual funds: the Mutual Fund Projection Guaraníes and the Mutual Fund Projection USD, widening the range of investment opportunities in the country.

The objective of both funds is to preserve and grow capital, so they are aimed at unit holders opting for the medium term and a moderate level of risk. These new funds join those already offered by CADIEM, bringing the total to six mutual funds, so as to meet investors' varied requirements on terms, amounts and returns.

In the case of the Mutual Fund Projection Guaraníes, the expected return is a maximum of 8.00% for investments from 260 days; if the investment is held for 90 days, the expected return is 7.44%; for 60-day terms it is 7.11% and for 30 days, 6.15%.

As for the Mutual Fund Projection USD, the expected return is a maximum of 5.00% for investments of more than 325 days; if the investment is held for 90 days, the expected return is 4.64%; for 60-day terms it is 4.43% and for 30 days, 3.84%.

Natalia Trinidad, CADIEM's Business Director, explains that the idea for this fund came from the behaviour observed in some investors in the Mutual Fund Available. On finding cases where the investment was held for more than six months (when this fund is intended for liquidity management), they decided to structure a product suited to that pattern of investment and with a higher return.

“We want to encourage the best use of the tools we have, and that is why we are launching other kinds of product, because we need a range of funds that match every need an investor has,” said Natalia Trinidad.

The Projection mutual funds have no minimum or maximum subscription or redemption amounts, and no redemption charge, although a period of five business days from the redemption request must be observed before the invested funds can be withdrawn, with the corresponding return generated up to that point.

The instruments these funds will invest in are Monetary Regulation Bills (LRM), for the guaraní-denominated fund, and US Treasury bonds for the dollar fund; Certificates of Deposit (CDs); bonds rated BBB py or above; and money market or liquidity funds, such as demand accounts and repo transactions.

These funds also seek diversification in their investments, setting a 25% limit on the share a single issuer or corporate group may represent among the securities making up the portfolio managed by the fund. In both cases, leverage of 30% is permitted.

The Business Director stressed that these funds are managed under CADIEM's professional stewardship and a clear investment policy. On the practical use that can be made of the money invested in the Projection Mutual Fund, she gave the example of setting aside money for taxes or working capital to be used two months or more ahead.

The Projection Mutual Fund in an increasingly sophisticated market

Natalia Trinidad recalled that CADIEM had felt the absence of a medium-term mutual fund, since the Mutual Fund Available Guaraníes y Mutual Fund Available USD are aimed at operating cash that can be redeemed within 24 hours, and at a conservative profile. The Mutual Growth Fund y Mutual Fund For All, meanwhile, are options aimed at the long term and at capital growth.

This greater completeness in CADIEM's mutual fund offering comes at a time of considerable momentum in the Paraguayan economy as a whole and in the investment picture in particular, aligning with international standards alongside a modernisation of the whole system's infrastructure.

In this context, the growth of the fund industry in Paraguay reflects investors' growing confidence and the market's maturity. According to data from the Asunción Stock Exchange, as of May 2026 assets managed by funds exceeded USD 2,300 million, making this one of the most dynamic segments of the capital market. Against this backdrop, CADIEM leads the fund industry in Paraguay with an 18% share of total assets under management.

The calibre of investors, the sophistication of the market and the types of product available are all changing. This is the third wave Paraguay will see: we began with bonds, then fund managers, and now comes the chance to operate internationally as well, thanks to investment grade, the infrastructure of CAVAPY (Caja de Valores del Paraguay), among other advances,” he concluded.
