Bonds

Bonds are debt securities that can be issued by private companies, financial institutions, and the government (including the state and municipalities), with the intention of raising capital for a specific purpose.

The issuing institution undertakes to return to customers on capital contributed, within an established term. Interest may be paid monthly, quarterly or semi-annually.

It is an alternative that institutions find to bank loans or financing, since, in the case of bond issuance, it is the institution itself that determines the term and the rate of return.
